Teatro Vivo, festival NYU



The King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center and the MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish Program present:
Teatro Vivo/Live Theater: A Festival (second edition)

A theatre festival, sponsored by the new Creative Writing in Spanish Program at NYU, consisting of four readings of plays in Spanish written by award-winning writers from Mexico, Argentina and Chile. Authors & directors will be available for a dialogue with the public after each reading: they will comment on the need of the word (the human voice contained in it) that resists vanishing in contemporary theater and talk about their unique process in creating and staging their work.

Wednesday, November 4, 7:00 p.m.:
· Acheunoeneuno by Mónica de la Torre (Mexico/US). A poetic word-play with 5 New York based actors directed by Pedro Jiménez.

Thursday, November 5, 7:00 p.m.:
· La Vagina de Laura Ingalls, by Alejandro Moreno (Chile/US). A monologue directed by Manuela Oyarzún (Chile).

Friday, November 6, 7:00 p.m.:
· Muñecos colocados frente al mar by Mario Bellatin (México). Text read by the author.

Saturday, November 7, 7:00 p.m.:
· Family Plot. Text + Slideshow
A collective piece issued from Vivi Tellas seminar at Creative Writing Spanish. Directed by Vivi Tellas (Argentina).
